Čadca

Under Čebrať, the terraces at Štadión Čadca run to 10,000, though only 7,000 of those are seated.

The one season that still gets talked about is 1985/86, when Čadca won the East group of the second tier and went up to the 1. SNFL, then Czechoslovakia's second flight. They stayed four seasons, peaking with eighth place in 1987/88 before relegation dropped them back down in 1990. A decade earlier, in 1975/76, they had already taken the regional championship in the Central group. Independence brought one more taste of the second level, a 2008/09 campaign in the Slovak 2. liga that ended in sixth, followed the next year by relegation again.

Ľubomír Michalík came through the youth ranks and senior side between 2000 and 2003 before Bolton Wanderers signed him, and he went on to win eight caps for Slovakia. Marián Jarabica started out at Čadca too, moving on to Cracovia and Ludogorets after representing his country at under-21 level.

These days Čadca sit in the 3. liga – Střed group, the third tier.
