Charlottenlund

Down the road from Charlottenlund sits Tiller, and the two have played a "byderby" often enough that neither side needs the league table to know what a meeting means. That local rivalry sits alongside a broader identity the club earned in 2014, when it beat out Rosenborg and other established Trondheim names to win "Klubben i mitt hjerte".

Results have never been the club's strongest suit at senior level. The men's team, promoted to the 1. divisjon for the 2015–16 season, has stayed a tier below the top flight since, finishing fifth in 2024–25. The women's side reached the Norwegian top division only once, in 1995, and now plays in the third tier. Neither has taken a national title.

What the club has built instead is a production line. Its Under-20 side, competing for the NM G20, lost the 2022 final before turning that disappointment around: Charlottenlund beat Nærbø 32–29 for the title in 2023, then Haslum itself 29–25 in 2024. That kind of back-to-back rarely happens by accident, and it reflects a youth setup that has sent players well beyond Trondheim.

None went further than Sander Sagosen. His brother Ciljan followed the same academy. It is Sander's name, though, that supporters still reach for first when the conversation turns to what this small club has actually produced.
