The Stadthalle Eggenburg is a small multi-purpose hall, seating around 600.

The women took up handball a year after the men's section formed at Eggenburg in 1946, playing their first match against Horn in 1947. In the early years the side collected three straight Lower Austrian state titles, in 1950, 1951 and 1952, before the club's ambitions settled into a longer, quieter rhythm.

Eggenburg reached the Meisterliga, Austria's top flight, and stayed there until relegation at the end of the 2011/12 season. The team won the WHA Challenge, the second-tier title, in 2021/22 to earn promotion. A run to the ÖHB Cup semi-final in 2020/21 added to a season that also produced a return to the second division crown in 2025/26, this time under the club's current name, UHC Eggenburg, and its nickname, the Füchsinnen.

Sandra Zeitelberger has carried much of that run. She was named the standout player of the 2022 Cup semi-final.
