Fc Djursholm Women

The women's side plays its football in Division 1 — known in Sweden as Ettan.

In 2010 FC Djursholm spent the year in Damallsvenskan and finished 11th, bottom of the table, relegated. The cup offered no relief.

It took four years for the club to produce the result that still gets mentioned. In the first round of the 2014/15 Svenska Cupen, Djursholm beat Tyresö DFF 2-1. Tyresö had been a name in the Swedish women's game; Djursholm, by then a lower-division club, knocked them out.

The club itself came out of a rearrangement rather than a founding. Three local sides in Danderyd — Ekebykamraterna, Djursholms IF and Djursholms IS — merged in 1978, and what emerged took the name of the district. Red and white have been the colours since.

Home is Djursholms IP 2 on Skolängsvägen, a ground that holds 1,000. It is a municipal pitch in a commuter suburb north of Stockholm, and on most matchdays it does not come close to filling.
