Fiji Women

Every edition of the Oceania Rugby Women's Championship has ended the same way for Fijiana: 2016, 2018, 2019, 2022, 2024, all won. The 2022 final against Papua New Guinea was not close — 152–0 — and the 2019 title carried a further reward, a place at the 2021 World Cup, the tournament that gave Fiji its first appearance on that stage.

The team traces its formal start to 2006, when the Fiji Women's Rugby Union was set up and the side played its first official test, against Samoa in Nuku'alofa during a one-off Pacific Tri-Nations.

At that 2021 World Cup, held in 2022, Fijiana beat South Africa 21–17 in the pool stage, its first win at the tournament. Sereima Leweniqila captained the side that day, a player who had already been a fixture in the squad since 2016. Qualification for the following World Cup, in 2025, came through the 2024 Oceania title, this time with Alfreda Fisher Maria wearing the captain's armband.

Fijiana plays in white with black shorts at home, switching to black and red away, and its rivalry with Samoa's Manusina remains the fixture that matters most in the region, even without a name attached to it. Against Australia's Wallaroos, the two sides play for a trophy shared with the men's teams, the Vuvale Bowl, once known as the Kava Bowl.

Five Oceania titles from five attempts is the number that sums up where Fijiana stands in its own region.
