Shakhtar Donetsk U19

That academy has spent over a decade proving it does not need Donetsk to produce players. Its clearest statement came in the 2014–15 UEFA Youth League, when a squad built entirely of Ukrainians reached the final and lost 3–2 to Chelsea. Viktor Kovalenko and Mykola Matviyenko were part of that side; both went on to senior careers.

Domestically, Shakhtar U19 have taken the Ukrainian U19 Premier League three times, in 2014–15, 2020–21 and most recently 2025–26. Dynamo Kyiv remain the standing rival, though at youth level the fixture carries less of the weight attached to the senior Derby of Ukraine.
