Wingate & Finchley

Anthony Limbrick wore the shirt at Wingate & Finchley before he took charge of the team from the touchline. The side he later coached carries a name stitched together in 1991, when Finchley FC, dating back to 1877, merged with Wingate FC — itself the product of an earlier union with Leyton FC before reverting to its old identity. Margaret Thatcher lent her name to the merger as a patron.

The Blues, as they are known for their blue colours, had a strong period in their history. In 2010–11 they took the Isthmian League Cup, the London Senior Cup and the Isthmian League Division One North play-offs in the same campaign, a treble that lifted them into the Premier Division, and added the Alan Turvey Trophy for good measure. That trophy returned to the club in 2025–26. Further back, Finchley FC's own record includes the Athenian League title in 1953–54 and two earlier London Senior Cups either side of that.

Games against Hendon carry the weight of a derby, with Enfield Town and Haringey Borough completing the list of local rivals. Scott Kashket passed through the under-21s in 2013 before his move to Leyton Orient, while Nathan Mavila returned to the club for a second spell between 2021 and 2022 after first appearing in 2017.
