Al-Shorta Stadium

The old Al-Shorta Stadium fell down in March 2014. The new one did not open until November 2025. The ground sits on Falastin Street in the Al-Rusafa district. The original structure was built by the club’s own workers and volunteers under Abdul-Qadir Zeinal, and it hosted the side’s title-winning season in 1997–98 before being pulled apart.

The delay in building the replacement was driven by the conflict. Construction paused in 2015 and only restarted in late 2022. During that period, the team played at Al-Shaab Stadium, a neutral venue that kept the fixtures running while the new concrete was being poured. The new stadium was designed by the Swedish firm Nordic Sport and built by Nynord, with the natural grass pitch installed by Redexim. The opening match ended in a 0–0 draw between the reserve team and Al-Hudood, watched by the ministers of interior and youth and sports.

The capacity is 10,089 seats. The first competitive win came easily enough on 4 January 2026, when Al-Shorta beat Zakho 1–0.
