In 1984 the Bulgarian Cup final between Levski Sofia and Botev Plovdiv, then carrying the name Trakiya, drew somewhere near 30,000 people to the terraces on bul. Belomorski. The stadium that holds Arda Kardzhali's home games today seats 11,114, and every one of those seats is a seat — which is the point of the difference.

The first phase went into the parts nobody photographs: drainage, irrigation, concrete bases under the stands, and 5,500 plastic seats. The grass was lifted and replaced entirely.

Older figures of 15,000 belong to the terraced version of the place, before the count was fixed by seats rather than by how many could be packed in.

A third round of work followed in 2020, paid for by the municipality and by the club's owner, PSI Group: a LED floodlight system and a new scoreboard, at BGN 2,470,699.
