Arena Svendborg

The Arena Svendborg sits within the Svendborg Idrætscenter complex at Ryttervej 70. It stands as a replacement for the older Gudmehallen and Svendborg Idrætshal facilities, opening its doors in early 2025. The interior stretches 2,000 square metres of synthetic sports floor, designed to shift between handball, basketball and gymnastics.

GOG claim the venue as their home, bringing the EHF Champions League to the island. The highest recorded attendance reached 3,043 during a match against SC Magdeburg in October. Operational figures list capacity at 4,500 total, though architectural plans originally specified 3,016 seats and a total capacity of 4,100. Movable walls allow the space to transform for concerts and other events outside the sporting calendar.

The Svendborg Rabbits basketball club also plays here, stepping onto the court for their inaugural home match against BC Copenhagen on March 13, 2025. The local football club SfB-Oure FA continues to play at Høje Bøge Stadium, which holds a natural grass surface and accommodates 7,000 spectators.

Construction began in January 2024 and cost approximately 82 million DKK including VAT. Gråkjær A/S built the facility, with C & W Arkitekter handling the architectural design and Stokvad providing the engineering. The arena opened officially on February 8, 2025.
