The ground sits in the 20-ci sahə of the Sabail district.
The pitch itself is the most striking feature. It looks pristine, maintained for a specific purpose. The stands are low, wrapping tightly around the rectangle, so the spectators are never far from the play.
It hosted matches involving Nigeria, the United States, Japan, Ghana, and Germany. Since that global event, the stadium has found a permanent home for the local club Sabail FK, who moved in during the 2017/2018 season following an upgrade to the lighting and administrative facilities. The venue also saw action for the Azerbaijan national team in a friendly against Zambia that same year.
The name has changed since those early days. Originally known as Bayıl Arena, it was renamed ASCO Arena in April 2019 after a sponsorship deal with the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company.
