The current tag, AVIS völlurinn, is just the latest in that line. Like its predecessors, it sits in the Laugardalur district, within walking distance of Laugardalsvöllur — the national stadium that has always taken the cup finals and the senior internationals this ground never gets.
The old stands came down in 2018, and the club moved onto a new artificial pitch on the same patch of land.
