Bezirkssportanlage Hemelingen
Bremen, Germany
Hemelingen's ground doubles as a district sports centre rather than a single-purpose football stadium, and that shows in the layout: a main pitch with natural turf, a stand and a running track sits alongside a second, artificial-turf pitch that got new LED floodlights in March 2023. SV Hemelingen 1858 plays its Bremen-Liga football here, in front of a capacity set at 4,000.
The venue's more interesting history belongs to a tenant long gone. Between 1987 and 1990, FC Mahndorf played its Oberliga Nord home fixtures at the Bezirkssportanlage because its own ground didn't meet third-tier requirements.
SV Hemelingen's own biggest recent occasion also happened elsewhere. The club's DFB-Pokal tie against VfL Wolfsburg on 16 August 2025, lost 9-0, was played at the Weserstadion in Bremen rather than at home.
The clubhouse dates to 1979, the sports hall to 1980 — a detail some databases have folded into a claim that the whole stadium was built that year, which isn't quite what happened.
