Bezirkssportanlage Schwachhausen is the pitch a district club built for itself when it had to start over.

The closest the place came to the wider game was the 1974/75 DFB-Pokal, when TuS Schwachhausen drew Homburg. The club never got to hold the tie in their own hands: money trouble meant the match was played away from Schwachhausen rather than at home.

Its more recent role has been a supporting one. From 2007, Werder Bremen's women's team began playing matches there under an arrangement with TuS Schwachhausen, brought on by a lack of suitable pitches elsewhere in the city — Werder's men stayed at the Weserstadion throughout, and ownership and day-to-day use of Schwachhausen never left TuS's hands. It is a ground that has spent most of its life doing exactly what a district club needs, without ever needing to be more than that.
