Stadium
Blanchflower Park (Blanchflower Stadium)
Belfast, United Kingdom
Before there was a stadium here, there was a flood plain. The old Blanchflower Playing Fields regularly flooded, and when Harland & Wolff Welders left their previous ground at Tillysburn Park for this site on Holywood Road, they took part of it with them — sections of the old stands were moved across rather than left behind.
Building it cost more than £5 million, and the 3G pitch inside the 2,000-capacity bowl is now shared between the Welders' men's side, playing in the NIFL Championship, and Glentoran FC Women.
Its official opening, in July 2022, brought Linfield to Holywood Road for the ceremonial first match, and the home side found no answer, losing 8-1.
