Formerly: Dinamo Stadium, Dinamo Stadium named after L.P. Beria, Dinamo Stadium named after V.I. Lenin, National Stadium, Boris Paichadze National Stadium
From 1937 to 1953 it carried the name of Lavrentiy Beria; destalinisation left it plain Dinamo Stadium from 1954; the rebuild of the 1970s attached Lenin's name, which it held until 1990. From 1995 it took the name of Boris Paichadze . The current form, Dinamo Arena, dates from 2011.
The reconstruction of 1969–1976, run by Archil and Gia Kurdiani with the engineer Shalva Gazashvili, took the capacity to 78,000; the rebuilt stadium opened over 26–29 September 1976. Archil Kurdiani the elder had drawn the original scheme in 1933–1936, with I. Fomin and the consultant A. N. Kalgin.
