Brest Arena is an indoor sports venue that opened in September 2014. It was designed by Isabel Hérault and Yves Arnod of Hérault Arnod Architectes to host matches for the 2017 World Men's Handball Championship and the 2018 European Men's Handball Championship. The arena serves as the home venue for the handball club Brest Bretagne Handball and seats 4,077 spectators for handball matches, with a maximum capacity of up to 5,500 for other configurations.
The playing surface is a wooden parquet floor, typical for indoor handball and basketball arenas. The arena has maintained its original name without any former designations. While Brest in Belarus features OSK Brestsky with a natural grass surface and a capacity of approximately 10,169, or the Brest Ice Palace opened in 2000 with 2,198 seats, the French Brest Arena is a notable indoor facility for international handball competitions.
