Wiesbaden did not remodel an old ground for the BRITA-Arena — the city built it from nothing on Berliner Straße, closing the book on the club's previous home at the Stadion am Halberg in Taunusstein. SV Wehen Wiesbaden opened it in October 2007 with a friendly against Borussia Dortmund, a game the visitors took 2:1, before the first competitive fixture followed within days.
There is no earlier name attached to the ground to explain or untangle, no rebrand, no residency swap: the naming rights have sat with the same sponsor since the gates first opened.
