Cheongju Sangjeong Gijang
Cheongju, South Korea
The Cheongju Sports Complex is a facility in North Chungcheong Province. Opened in September 1965, it underwent a significant transformation in May 1979, when Hyundai Engineering & Construction completed a major expansion that defined the stadium’s current footprint.
The structure sits within a larger complex that includes a baseball stadium and a gymnasium. The capacity of 16,280 is the current official figure, a reduction from earlier years when the stands held more spectators. The playing surface is natural grass, bordered by an elastic track.
It serves as the home for Cheongju FC, which has played there since 2009. The venue has never carried a corporate name, remaining simply the Cheongju Sports Complex or Cheongju Stadium. The term "Cheongju Sangjeong Gijang" does not exist in official records or local usage; it appears to be a conflation of separate names, possibly mixing the city with Gijang, a district in Busan.
