Coors Field

Coors Field sits in Denver, Colorado. The dry air makes the ball travel further. In 1996 the venue recorded the highest single-season earned run average in the sport’s record books, with nearly two hundred more hits than any other ground. The team responded by storing baseballs in a humidor before the 2002 season.

It has hosted two major league all-star games: one in 1998, where the national league defeated the american league, and another in 2021. The attendance record for a single game remains the 1998 all-star fixture, when 51,267 people filled the stands.

Things came to a head for the visiting los angeles dodgers in 1996, when Hideo Nomo threw a no-hitter against the hosts, an achievement considered impossible given the dimensions and conditions. The venue has also staged concerts and the 2016 nhl stadium series outdoor hockey match between the colorado avalanche and the detroit red wings. Renovations have been steady: a standing-room-only party deck was added in the right-field upper deck in 2014, and a new high-definition scoreboard arrived in 2018. The ground has never carried a former name, the rights being granted to Coors in perpetuity.
