The ground sits on Rua Dom Bosco, a short walk in from the coast at Estoril, and it has answered to two names for most of its life. Older supporters still call it Campo da Amoreira, the name it carried before it became the Estádio António Coimbra da Mota.

It opened on 1 January 1939, in the same year that ГД Эшторил Прая came into being — the club and the ground arrived together, and the club has played its home football there ever since. Эшторил Прая has not. The ground also belongs to the club rather than to the council, which is the other half of the same story: the tenant is the owner.

The pitch is natural grass, and the ground stays a small one for a club that competes in the Примейра-лига.

The setting is Cascais rather than Lisbon proper — Эшторил is a freguesia within the Cascais municipality.
