Estadio Banco Guayaquil

The name gives away more than the location does. This is a stadium that carries a Guayaquil bank's name while standing nowhere near Guayaquil — it sits in Sangolquí, in the Quito metro area, in the Chillo Jijón sector, under the parish of Amaguaña.

It opened on 20 March 2021 as the home of Independiente del Valle, and the club wasted no time christening it: they beat Delfín 2-0 that same afternoon in the first official match played there. Banco Guayaquil has been on the building since day one.

The pitch is artificial turf, a detail that still gets raised by visiting sides more used to grass. At 12,000 seats, it is a compact, purpose-built home rather than a stadium inherited from a bigger era.
