Estadio Bicentenario Municipal Nelson Oyarzún Arenas

The stadium first opened in 1961 as the Estadio Municipal de Chillán, and it was 1978 before it took Oyarzún's name in his honour. What stands today is not that building. Between 2007 and 2008 the old ground was torn down completely and rebuilt from the foundations up, in time for the 2008 Women's Under-20 World Cup. Ñublense spent that spell as tenants at the nearby Estadio Monumental Arístides Bahamondes in Chillán Viejo before returning home. President Michelle Bachelet was on hand for the reopening on 2 November 2008, when the ground took its full title, Estadio Bicentenario Municipal Nelson Oyarzún Arenas.

Ñublense have played here ever since, and the ground has hosted fixtures well above its usual level: group and last-16 matches at the 2015 Under-17 World Cup, including Germany against Argentina, and Copa Libertadores nights that stretched a 12,000-capacity venue to its limit.

The stadium has taken its own knocks. The earthquake of 27 February 2010 brought down part of the roof over the Pacífico stand and left cracks through the structure. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the grounds served a different purpose entirely, hosting a field hospital rather than a match.
