Estadio Cibao FC

The stadium stands in the shadow of the university. It is not a landmark in the old city. What is here is a fit-and-forget pitch built for one club’s arrival in the Liga Dominicana de Fútbol. The surface is hybrid grass , a change made during the 2024 overhaul that brought a wider pitch and modern irrigation.

The stadium also hosted matches during the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, including group stage games against Nigeria, New Zealand, South Korea, the USA, Kenya and Ecuador, and a quarterfinal between the USA and Nigeria.

There is a sense of pragmatism about the place. Arcángel and Juan Luis Guerra have played there, though those dates sit in the future. The ground does not pretend to be older than it is, and it does not try to be anything else.
