The stadium in Jundiaí carries the name of the city itself in local shorthand — everyone still calls it Limeirão, long after the man it was formally named for, Dr. Jayme Pinheiro de Ulhôa Cintra, gave way to habit. It opened on 30 May 1957, in the same stretch of years when São Paulo state was filling in its map of mid-sized football grounds, and Jundiaí got one built to hold close to fourteen thousand people, a scale that put the city on par with its larger neighbours without pretending to rival them.

Paulista FC has made the ground its home since those early days, and the pitch itself has kept to plain terms throughout: natural grass, no artificial surface experiments, no redevelopment story to tell. The stadium sits on Praça Dr. Salim Gebran, in the Jardim Pacaembu district, a location that has anchored it to the same corner of the city since it first opened its gates.

What sets Limeirão apart from the identikit municipal grounds built in the same decade is less about the structure than the confusion its name invites — a similarly named stadium in the city of Limeira, tied to a different official, has occasionally blurred the two in casual reference. For Jundiaí itself, though, there is no ambiguity: this is the one ground the city has had for close to seventy years, unmodernised in any dramatic sense, still doing the job it was built for.
