Estadio Monumental Presidente José «Pepe» Fierro

The first thing Club Atlético Tucumán built here was called the Grand Stadium — a name that made sense in 1922, when nothing on the northern side of the country stood close to it in scale. That opening name outlasted its own logic for a while; the ground wasn't renamed Estadio Monumental José Fierro until 1938, when the club chose to honour a former president rather than keep boasting about size.

The scale it started with kept being redrawn. The 5,000 capacity of 1922 grew in stages over the following decades, reaching roughly 29,200 by 2009 — and then the club went back to work on it twice more. A first phase in 2009–2010 added a members' stand with VIP boxes over sectors five and six and pushed floodlight coverage up by 70 percent. A later phase, finished in 2018–2019, raised a second tier above sectors three and four along Calle 25 de Mayo, built a new away end on Calle Bolivia, and added a big screen, an expanded VIP section and a club museum — work that pushed the total past 32 million pesos and left the stadium at its current 35,200.

Spanish architect José Graña designed the original ground, and the address on Calle 25 de Mayo, near the corner with Chile, has stayed fixed through every rebuild. Rugby has found a home here too: Los Pumas have played Test matches against France and Ireland on this pitch. The club marked the stadium's centenary on the field itself, on 21 May 2022 — the same turf where, that November, Colombian midfielder Andrés Balanta collapsed and died of cardiac arrest during training.
