In July 2025, the venue received a commercial name: ***Estadio Ontime Butarque***, following a sponsorship agreement with a logistics company. This sponsorship will run until 2029.

The capacity has expanded significantly over the years. Originally opened with fewer seats, the ground underwent major reconstruction in 2016, shortly before CD Leganés secured promotion to La Liga. After those works, the venue held ***12,454*** supporters.

A notable moment occurred on 24 November 2024, when a La Liga match between Leganés and Real Madrid drew a record attendance of ***12,388*** fans. The previous record belonged to a game against Elche on 2 June 2016, which confirmed the club's return to the top flight.

Pearl Jam performed here on 9 June 2007.

The ground opened on 14 February 1998 with a 1–1 draw against Jerez. Since then, it has hosted numerous matches, including encounters with Barcelona, Atlético Madrid, and Real Madrid across various competitions.

The name Butarque honours the town's patron, Nuestra Señora de Butarque, and appears on signage throughout the stadium.
