Estádio Municipal Sernamby sits in the Sernamby neighborhood of São Mateus. The pitch is natural grass. What distinguishes the venue is not its grandeur but its history. Built by the local community in the 1960s, it was conceived as a community centre rather than a commercial enterprise. The current capacity of 2,000 is a shadow of the original 11,000. The stadium has weathered the storm.
It is the traditional home of Associação Atlética São Mateus. The ground has seen other visitors, including Real Noroeste and Jaguaré FC, the latter playing the inaugural match when the stadium opened in 1965.
