Estadio Municipal Wilmer Icabalceta

The Estadio Municipal Wilmer Icabalceta sits in Sébaco, a town in the Matagalpa department of Nicaragua. It holds the attention of the local football club, Club Sport Sébaco, which plays in the top flight here. A renovation project started by the city council in September 2022. One phase finished in February 2023, focusing on the facades and locker rooms, while a second phase began in March to install new stands and the playing field.

The venue took on a new name during this overhaul, honouring Wilmer Icabalceta, a local figure whose name is also given to a neighbourhood in the town. Before this, it was known as the Estadio Municipal Germán Pomares Ordóñez, and long before that simply the Campo de Fútbol. The original date of construction is not recorded in available sources, but the facility existed for decades before the recent work. The capacity stands at 2,000 seats, a figure consistent across databases like Transfermarkt and Sofascore, as well as local news reports. The surface is artificial turf, a standard setup for many venues in the Nicaraguan Primera División.

While one source once listed the capacity as 1,000, that data is now considered outdated compared to the more recent and consistent reports. No official attendance record for a match at the stadium has been found in available documentation. The ground also served as a home for the former club Deportivo Sébaco, which was active between 2014 and 2018.
