The surface is artificial turf, laid down late in 2024 as part of a larger overhaul. The work was funded by the central government, and the new surface marked the first of its kind in the Carazo Department.
Estadio Olímpico de San Marcos is the current name, but the official dedication is for Leonardo García Jara . The place is not connected to a university, unlike other grounds with similar names in the region. It is the home of the local team, FC San Marcos, and the capacity is small, around three thousand people.
There is no privacy here. The new dressing rooms and outdoor gym were finished earlier this year, but the main event remains the pitch itself.
