Estadio Puente de Piedra
Grecia, Costa Rica
Estadio Puente de Piedra was never meant to be a long-term home. Sporting Football Club put it up on the site of La Argentina de Grecia, a municipal sports pitch in the La Argentina district of Grecia canton, Alajuela, as a stopgap while the club's own 6,000-seat complex takes shape elsewhere. Sporting arrived here after leaving Ernesto Rohrmoser, still with a place in Costa Rica's top flight, Liga FPD, to defend.
The ground opened on 14 January 2026, and the opening fixture doubled as round one of the Clausura: Sporting hosted Club Sport Herediano and went down 2-0, so the stadium fell silent on its own opening night. The pitch is artificial turf, laid over ground that had served the town as open recreation space rather than built up from scratch.
Outside Sporting's own fixtures, Puente de Piedra also hosts AD Municipal Grecia, who play their second-division football here — one small new arena doing duty for two clubs until Sporting's permanent stadium is ready.
