Botafogo-SP built its home here as Estádio Santa Cruz. Between 2018 and 2019 the stadium underwent a transformation into a multi-purpose venue, rebranded Arena Eurobike and later Arena Nicnet Eurobike, with a fixed stage complex for 15,000 people, a retail boulevard housing a Hard Rock Cafe and the Walfänger brewery, a roughly 70-square-metre LED screen, and VIP additions including two lounges, thirteen boxes and thirty-four suites. Capacity came down from the historic 60,000-plus to today's roughly 29,000.

The ground opened on 21 January 1968 with a friendly between Botafogo and the Romania national team, which the hosts won 6-2. Its record attendance dates to 17 March 1993, when Brazil drew 2-2 with Poland in front of a crowd sources put at either 62,000 or 49,358 — the gap wide enough that neither figure can be stated as settled. Brazil had already visited in competitive form on 14 March 1981, beating Chile 2-1. In 2014, the France national team used the site as a training base during its World Cup preparations.

Since the rebuild, the concert bill has run alongside the football fixtures: Xuxa played in 1995, Roberto Carlos in 2010, David Guetta returned twice, in 2014 and 2015, and Helloween performed in 2022.
