Estadio Santo Domingo de Guzmán

Estadio Santo Domingo de Guzmán sits at the centre of Mixco's municipal sports complex. When the gates finally opened, on 15 September 2018, President Jimmy Morales was there for the ceremony.

The early years were rough around the edges. Roof leaks and pitch defects needed fixing within months of the debut, and the artificial surface has stayed in place since. A semi-final of the 2018/19 Copa de Guatemala between Mixco and Aurora ended in disaster when makeshift metal stands, put up by supporters themselves, collapsed under the crowd.

That history didn't stop the club from adding temporary metal terracing again later to squeeze in more fans. Tension around capacity has surfaced more than once: in April 2025, municipal security staff were filmed forcibly removing fans from the stands.

None of that overshadowed May 2024, when the ground hosted a final with no precedent in Guatemalan football — Deportivo Mixco against Municipal, the first time the two sides had ever met at that stage of the competition.
