The ground sits on a bend in the Ohio River. Great American Ball Park opened in 2003 at 100 Joe Nuxhall Way. The current name belongs to the insurance company that paid for thirty years of rights.

The pitch is natural grass, and it has been Kentucky Bluegrass since 2019.

This has been the home of the Cincinnati Reds since its first game in March 2003. They have played there all along, despite the changes in the city skyline and the river traffic. The stadium hosted the 2015 Major League Baseball All-Star Game, when the city put on a show for the league.

The capacity is 43,500 now, and it has grown slowly over the years. Homer Bailey threw a no-hitter against the San Francisco Giants on July 2, 2013, and the crowd stayed until the final out. Joey Votto hit three home runs in a single game in May 2012, including a walk-off grand slam that ended a barren spell for the home side.
