The original structure, raised between 1977 and 1982, still carries the weight of its steel-frame roof and glued wooden beams. These supports have held up for decades, bearing the vibration of skates and the scrape of sticks on artificial ice.

The atmosphere here is defined by endurance. After a fire in February 2017 damaged the roof, the arena was not abandoned. Instead, a reconstruction project began, driven by the National Investment Company and local funding. This was not a simple repair; it was a rebuild from the ground up. The old ammonia-based refrigeration plant was replaced, and the concrete was poured anew.

For Gyergyói HK, this is the only ground that matters. The club, which rebranded in 2018 after years of previous identities, plays its home matches here in the Erste Liga. The stands fill when they need to, though no record is kept of the exact number. What is visible is the result of years of investment: new locker rooms, a training center, and a surface that meets international standards.

The venue serves as the permanent home for Gyergyói HK.
