Hala Widowiskowo-Sportowa im. Ryszarda Matuszaka

The Hala Widowiskowo-Sportowa im. Ryszarda Matuszaka sits adjacent to the Chrobry Głogów football stadium. The building is a functional box of concrete and glass, designed by Wojciech Zabłocki and opened in 1998 after construction began in 1985 and stalled through historical changes.

On March 18, 2000, the hall was renamed to honour Ryszard Matuszak, a teacher, coach and handball activist whose work helped secure the facility’s completion. Before that date, it carried the generic title Hala Widowiskowo-Sportowa w Głogów.

The arena hosts the handball club SPR Chrobry Głogów, which competes in the Polish Superliga. It also previously held the futsal side Euromaster Chrobry Głogów, which withdrew from the Futsal Ekstraklasa in 2017, and has seen matches of the Poland national handball team. The seating capacity stands at 1,300, with some sources suggesting a total capacity of up to 1,500 when standing areas are included, but the official figure remains unchanged.

Notable events include Chrobry Głogów winning the Silver Medal in 2006. The attendance record was set on March 25, 2015, during a Polish Superliga match against Vive Tauron Kielce, with approximately 1,350 spectators filling the venue. The hall also hosts cultural events, including concerts by bands such as Hey, Dżem, and Golec uOrkiestra, as well as cabaret shows and trade fairs.
