Hebburn Sports & Social Ground

There is no grand history of architecture here, and the building dates are not found. What exists is a functional space on South Drive. The club was founded in 1912 as a works team for the Reyrolles engineering company, and while the name has shifted through several iterations.

The surface is natural grass. Plans were announced in 2025 to replace the pitches with FIFA Pro-certified 3G artificial surfaces. This redevelopment, supported by a £2 million government funding package, includes a new South Stand and a community hub.

Hebburn Town won that tie 2–0, a run that eventually led to the 2020 FA Vase Final. They secured their first major national trophy in May 2021 against Consett, winning 3–2 at Wembley.

It is a place where the boundaries between sport and social club are blurred.

They won the Northern Premier League Division One East title in the 2023–24 season, securing promotion. The pitch is natural grass, for now, waiting for the artificial turf that will change the game underfoot.
