Horácký zimní stadion

The ground in Jihlava was not built for football. It opened for ice hockey in 1955 and stayed that way until the end.

The roof inside is the part that catches the eye.

There is a reason the capacity was tighter than expected. A crowd crush in 1965 changed how the place was managed. Following that, the capacity was cut. The final number settled at 7,200. That is roughly 1,700 seats and the rest standing. The standing areas were removed or restricted after the rebuild, which is why the seats look uniform now.

The club that played there, HC Dukla Jihlava, moved out in 2022. The arena closed in April that year. It was knocked down the next winter. The new Horácká multifunkční aréna opened in November 2025. It holds 5,750 for hockey.
