The pitch itself carries the heaviest recent investment. Al Ittihad Kalba plays on a hybrid surface, natural grass reinforced with synthetic fibres, the kind of upgrade usually reserved for grounds under closer scrutiny — and the club paired it with a full reseating programme, bringing in Omsi from Italy to fit new stands, including VIP sections with Pininfarina-designed seating. Floodlights were also brought up to FIFA dimming standards in August 2022, the sort of unglamorous compliance work that rarely gets noticed until it's missing.
On the pitch, the stadium's one moment of note came in the 2021 President's Cup, when Al Ittihad Kalba reached the semi-final and gave Al Nasr a torrid evening before bowing out on penalties, 7-6 on aggregate after the tie finished 3-3. It remains the club's high-water mark, achieved from a ground that has otherwise recorded some of the league's thinnest crowds — a 2012-13 fixture against Dibba Al Fujairah drew barely a hundred spectators.
No former name has stuck definitively; local records list it variously as Kalba Club Stadium and Ittihad Kalba Stadium, without a clean break between the two.
