KA-Heimilið

KA-heimilið sits at Dalsbraut 1. The club built it over the course of one year, finishing the project in June 1986, and it has served the community ever since.

The heart of the complex is a sports hall with a floor area of 1,215 m². This is where the heavy lifting happens for KA Handball and the volleyball teams. It has seen European nights, too; the hall hosted matches in the 1997–98 EHF Champions League and later in the 2022–23 European Cup. The record attendance sits at 238 spectators for a women’s handball clash.

Outside the hall, on the south side, the pitch tells a different story. In 2022, the club installed new artificial turf (gervigras), replacing the natural grass that had worn down at the old Greifavöllur site. The official capacity for seated persons is 1,000, a figure that corrects older databases which often confused it with the nearby Íþróttahöllin á Akureyri, which holds 1,200.
