Kunsteisbahn Oberwynental

Reinach, Switzerland

The Kunsteisbahn Oberwynental sits in the Oberwynental valley area of Reinach, a facility that has operated since October 10, 1981. It was the fifth artificial ice rink established in the Canton of Aargau. The building and land are owned by the municipality of Reinach, while the operation falls to the Genossenschaft Kunsteisbahn Oberwynental, a cooperative founded in 1981.

Most visitors will know the venue as Eishalle Reinach. The rink itself is a 60 by 30 metre sheet of artificial refrigerated ice laid on a concrete floor. Originally an open-air installation, the site was later roofed to become an indoor hall, though the date of that conversion is not recorded. The facility accommodates 1,200 spectators. A Swiss Cup fixture between Argovia Stars and SCL Tigers drew 748 spectators in 2017/18, while a 2025 league match against EHC Basel attracted 465.

The arena serves as the home ground for SC Reinach (Damen), the women’s team that competed in the Swiss Women’s League (SWHL A). They claimed the Swiss Women's Ice Hockey Championship in three consecutive seasons: 2001, 2002, and 2003. The men’s side, Hockey Reinach, plays in the 1. Liga (MySports League). The team achieved promotion from the 3. Liga to the 1. Liga in 2017 following a league restructuring. Modern infrastructure includes LED lighting and a dehumidification system, alongside a restaurant named Iszapfe and a summer Fun Park.
