The plan to shift the club into the new district was set in motion in 2006; only by the middle of 2022 was Fram fully based there.
The first match came on 20 June 2022, IBV the visitors, and it finished 3-3 — a game neither side closed out . By then the ground was working.
It was simply Framvöllur Úlfarsárdal at that point, the old name carried across from Safamýri with the district appended. The sponsored name, Lambhagavöllurinn, arrived later: talks ran through the closing months of 2023 and the deal was announced in February 2024.
The pitch is artificial, with heating laid beneath it. The sports complex was designed by VA Arkitektar.
Of the 1,200 the ground holds, only 90 are seats. Everyone else stands. That single figure explains the shape of the place better than the total does.
