Stadium
Machida GION Stadium
Machida, Japan
Formerly: Machida Municipal Athletic Stadium, Nozuta Stadium
The pitch itself is natural grass, kept in good shape by the groundskeepers at Nippon Taiiku Shisetsu. They use a mix of Tifton grass and winter overseeding to keep the surface playable through the seasons. It opened in 1990 as the Machida Municipal Athletic Stadium, before being renamed Nozuta Stadium and, more recently, Machida GION Stadium after a logistics company bought the naming rights.
The attendance record is a matter of debate: one source says 8,629 for a playoff match in 2015, while another claims 13,506 for a game against Gamba Osaka in 2024.
