Mestský štadión Púchov
Púchov, Slovakia
Mestský štadión Púchov rose from the ground in the mid-1950s, a municipal project that cost 2.1 million Czechoslovak crowns to complete. It opened on May 1, 1957. The club, known as MŠK Púchov, has used it as a home since.
There is no under-soil heating. Two auxiliary pitches sit alongside, covered in artificial turf, and a third training surface was added in 2025. The 2017 rebuild, carried out by ENGO, s.r.o., focused on the main pitch and included an LED screen, but the structure itself remains largely unchanged.
Capacity sits at 6,614, with roughly 5,964 places in seats. The figures vary slightly between sources. It has hosted Slovakia under-15 and under-16 internationals and a few Slovnaft Cup ties, including a clash against FC Spartak Trnava, but no finals or major international fixtures have ever been staged there.
The stadium has never carried a sponsor’s name, even when the club was FK Matador Púchov or ŠK Matador Púchov, during the years the tyre manufacturer backed the team. It is simply the city ground.
