The Monitor ERP Arena stands in Gävle. It opened as Gavlerinken in 1967, a time when people still stood to watch games, and the capacity reflected that habit. Skanska did the work, the architect Ulf Bergfjord drew the plans, and the club called the old rink a "worn-out old ice rink" before rebuilding it into what they described as a "temple of glass and concrete." The money is a matter of record: Skanska says 137 million SEK, the club history page says 150 million, and Wikipedia settles on 160 million. The current figure sits at 7,909.
Beyond hockey, the arena has held concerts by Lars Winnerbäck and Darin, and in 2025 it hosted the Damkronorna IIHF Olympic Qualification Tournament for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. The records show a few other things too: Melodifestivalen semi-finals in 2007, a TV-Pucken final in 2023, and a Sweden versus Czechia match in the Euro Hockey Tour in 2013.
