It opened as the Nottingham Arena, became the Trent FM Arena Nottingham, then the Capital FM Arena Nottingham, and has been the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham since 2015. The 2011 modernization added a draping system, allowing the interior to be configured for intimate concerts or large events. The capacity for a seated football match is not a metric used here; the standard capacity is 10,000 for events. The arena hosts the Premier League Darts tour and has staged international ice hockey tournaments, but the primary focus is the sport that requires the ice.
