Narva Kalev-Fama staadion

Long before Kalev-Fama took its current name, this ground began as a garrison project — work started in 1926, and the stadium opened properly in August 1931, with Jaan Hünerson and Aleksander Tõnisson among those on hand for the occasion.

After the war the arena was renamed for Kalev, the club whose identity it still half carries even though that original Narva Kalev no longer exists as an independent side. The name survives on the gate; the club that gave it does not.

The rebuild that gave the ground its present shape and name finished on 12 October 2013, when it reopened as the Kalev-Fama Stadium with an artificial pitch in place of whatever came before.

What's left over from 1931 is mostly the site itself and the habit of calling it something with Kalev in the title, even as the football club that word once described has long since gone.
