NHK Spring Mitsuzawa Football Stadium

Three names, several tenants, one pitch. The ground at Mitsuzawa was rebuilt twice around the playing area Yokohama City laid out for the 10th National Sports Festival of Japan: work began in 1951 and the stadium opened in 1955.

The first reconstruction was for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, when Mitsuzawa took preliminary football matches — Fukunaga Architectural Design Office drew the alterations, Fujita Corporation carried them out. The second, in 1993, is the one that shaped the ground a visitor sees now: a scheme by Kunigami Design, built by a joint venture of Fujita and Miki Corporation. That timing explains the tenancies. Yokohama F. Marinos played home matches here from 1993 to 1997, Yokohama Flügels until 1999; the ground has since settled as home to Yokohama FC and YSCC Yokohama, and it staged matches at the 1979 FIFA World Youth Championship in between.

The name has moved with its sponsor rather than its architecture. It was Mitsuzawa Football Field, then Yokohama Mitsuzawa Football Stadium, until NHK Spring bought the naming rights in March 2008 and it became Nippatsu Mitsuzawa Football Stadium. The company's English form replaced the abbreviation in 2023.

The largest crowd on record came on 25 November 2023, when 13,624 watched Yokohama FC against Shonan Bellmare in J1. The pitch itself measures 107 by 72 metres.
