Nobelhallen

The arena does not present itself as a monument to a single club. Built when the climate in Karlskoga was still cold enough to rely on outdoor ice, **Nobelhallen** opened on 15 October 1972 to replace the Boforsrinken. The municipality funded the transition, spending 15 million SEK to bring the sport indoors. It has remained the central hub for the local game ever since, housing BIK Karlskoga and Karlskoga IK.

The capacity sits somewhere between five thousand and five thousand six hundred places. Standing has always been the preference here; the 2013 renovation confirmed that by reducing the number of seats in favour of floor space. The arena itself has not changed its name, nor has it been sold off to a sponsor. It is currently in the middle of a significant overhaul. A contract signed with NCC in May 2023 brings a renovation budget of roughly 60 million SEK to the project, aiming to bring the playing surface and lighting up to Swedish Hockey League standards by the 2026 season.

It has seen history, if not often. The deciding fifth game of the 1986 Swedish Championship final took place on its ice, a match where Färjestad BK defeated Södertälje SK to take the title. That moment is less celebrated than the concerts that fill the hall when the ice is pulled up. Roxette played here in 1988 and again in 1994; Motörhead appeared in 1985 and 1999.
