Östersund Arena

The nearby arena at number 27 is an indoor hall for ice hockey and bandy, but the football pitch outside has been its own place since the opening in 2007. It was designed by Tirsén & Aili Arkitekter, a firm that later took the name Stark Arkitekter. The pitch itself is artificial turf, supplied by GreenFields Europe, and it carries heating under the surface so the ground can be used through the Swedish winter. The north end holds a standing terrace that was added after Östersunds FK were promoted to Superettan in 2013. The short sides were originally terraces too, but UEFA Europa League rules changed that in 2017 when those sections were converted to seated stands. The capacity is usually given as 8,466, though the UEFA records list 5,092 seats and 3,374 standing places. They took out the standing sections on the short sides to meet European regulations and kept the terrace at the north end. The attendance record stands at 8,369, set during the Svenska Cupen Final in 2017 when Östersunds FK beat IFK Norrköping 4–1. The stadium also hosted the ConIFA World Football Cup in 2014, 2016 and 2018, along with concerts and the SM-veckan National Winter Games.

The ground at Arenavägen 23 sits apart from the indoor complex at number 27, yet the two names often get tangled. Östersunds FK have played here since 2007, and the stadium's character comes from the standing terrace at the north end and the artificial pitch that survives the cold. When the club took on teams like Arsenal and Athletic Bilbao in the UEFA Europa League, the all-seater sections held nearly 8,000 fans, but the real measure of the place has been the cup final crowd of 8,369 in 2017.
